This Raw chaga mushroom grows for 10-20 years on birch trees into a hard, woody mass. Chaga also grows on maple or ash trees, but the best comes straight from the birch trees of Siberia. It is thought the dark appearance of this apoptogenic fungus is derived from melanin absorbed from its host birch trees.
